Businesses celebrate the launch of the West Bridgford Way

22 March 2019

Local businesses have gathered to learn more about the West Bridgford Way, a new place-marketing website and brand identity designed to help residents and visitors alike to find businesses, places to eat and events in the town.

Consumers can now quickly locate outlets, services or events and receive the latest updates using the site at and its associated social media channels @westbway on twitter and @westbridgfordway on facebook and instagram.

Over 120 business owners and employees heard on Tuesday (March 19) how the site provides a cohesive link between the range of businesses across the town, whilst encouraging residents to utilise their high streets and shop locally.

Developed in conjunction with the Rushcliffe Business Partnership, the new site builds on one of the recommendations of the West Bridgford Commissioners’ report that suggested development of a brand identity for the town as one of the ways to further enhance its economy.

West Bridgford Commissioner Mick Burrows welcomed the businesses to the launch and was delighted by the enthusiasm of all who attended, eager to support the new brand.

He said: “Such great support from local business owners and their employees at the event was really heartening to see, showing the desire of so many to further enhance the town’s retail and leisure offer.

“Thank you to all those who attended, I am sure that the site will grow and evolve thanks to their support, feedback and insight, meaning retail areas across West Bridgford will further receive the recognition they deserve.”

The website launch comes ahead of this summer’s Cricket World Cup and England international cricket schedule that is expected to bring a further 200,000 people to Trent Bridge and the town’s businesses.

Rushcliffe Borough Council Executive Manager for Neighbourhoods Dave Banks was thrilled by the reception to one of the report’s key recommendations.

He said: “This is an exciting time for the new website and its brand identity, which can only improve the online visibility of retailers for visitors to the town and signpost them to their services.

“Ahead of the many events taking place in West Bridgford this year, including the highly anticipated Cricket World Cup this summer, this new website will help to raise the profile of our wonderful local businesses.

“The West Bridgford Way celebrates the vibrant and diverse range of retailers, outlets and services available to shoppers, residents and visitors.”

Other key themes from the Commissioners’ report which the Board are focussing on include ways to enhance the town centre’s retail and leisure offer through a more integrated and future proofed approach.

It has included consultation earlier this year on proposals to improve the appearance and accessibility of Tudor Square in the town centre.
