20 December 2018

Rushcliffe Borough Council’s staff choir have brought Christmas cheer to elderly residents of a local care home with a visit to sing carols.

Members of the team, led by Chief Executive Allen Graham, performed 10 festive songs to entertain those in residence at Leawood Manor Care Home in West Bridgford on Tuesday (December 18).

From ‘Come O Ye Faithful’ and ‘Tidings of Comfort and Joy’ through to modern classics ‘Let It Snow’ and ‘Merry Christmas Everyone’ the festive tunes were well received by dozens of residents and staff who sang and danced along.

Allen said: “This is the second time we have visited the home at this time of year and we would like to say thank you again for being such welcoming hosts.

“It was a pleasure to meet and sing with the residents of Leawood Manor and I hope they enjoyed our mini Christmas concert.”

Manager of Leawood Manor Zimran Alam said: “The residents and staff have been so looking forward to the choir visit and the concert did not disappoint.

“Everyone really enjoyed joining in so thank you again to Rushcliffe Singing Group for bringing so much festive cheer and putting an extra smile on everyone’s faces.”
