Alleged fridge fly-tippers have vehicle seized

18 December 2018

Individuals who allegedly fly-tipped fridges on an A52 lay-by close to Nottingham Knight and Wheatcroft Islands have had their vehicle seized by Rushcliffe Borough Council officers.

It follows a spate of incidents in the area in recent months prompting CCTV to be installed at the location that caught the alleged perpetrators in the act on November 30 on the eastbound carriageway.

It subsequently led to the confiscation of a red Ford Transit van linked to the fly-tipping, in conjunction with Nottinghamshire Police, on December 13 on Hartley Road in Nottingham.

Rushcliffe Borough Council’s Deputy Leader Cllr Debbie Mason said: “The message is clear, we will use all of our enforcement powers and seek to prosecute anyone who fly-tips and creates disgusting eyesores like this.

“Our Environmental Health team should be applauded for this work in identifying the alleged vehicle involved in dumping the items.

“Anyone who has information on those committing any fly-tipping offence should contact us on social media, over the phone on 0115 981 99 11 or email”
