Keep your shed and garden secure

30 May 2018

Rushcliffe Borough Council is reminding residents to keep their sheds and gardens secure in the further months of warmer weather ahead.

Summer can unfortunately see rises in thefts from sheds and gardens and those of flimsy construction can often be an easy target for thieves to break in to.

High value equipment and bikes are common for thieves to steal and it is advised that these items are locked together, even if stored within a locked shed.

To help protect property, the Council have a limited supply of alarmed padlocks and coach bolts, free of charge to Rushcliffe based residents.

Simply pop along to Rushcliffe Community Contact Centre on Rectory Road in West Bridgford to collect yours, subject to availability.

Then this Saturday, 2 June, the next bike security session will take place at the same venue from 10am to 12pm.

Bring along a bike and have it security marked and registered. Old weak locks will be swapped free of charge for a stronger D lock, again subject to supplies.
