What is the Local Plan Part 2?

Local Plan Part 2: Land and Planning Policies Document (LAPP) will set out the non-strategic development allocations and a number of detailed policies for managing new development, following on from the strategic framework set out in the Core Strategy (Local Plan Part 1). When adopted, both documents will constitute the statutory development plan for the whole of the Borough and will replace all former Local Plans. Local Plan Part 2 will run to 2028 to align with the plan period of the Core Strategy.

Issues and Options

Issues and Options of the Local Plan Part 2: Land and Planning Policies Document (LAPP)

This was part of the first stage of preparing Local Plan Part 2. It identified some of the key issues that we think Local Plan Part 2 needed to include and asked for your views on these. One of these key issues was identifying new housing sites on the edge of the 'key settlements' of East Leake, Keyworth, Radcliffe on Trent and Ruddington. The document also asked for views on employment provision, retail centres, design, green infrastructure and biodiversity, climate change and other issues.

The Issues and Options consultation ended on 24 March 2016. It was consulted on alongside the following documents:

‌‌Draft Sustainability Appraisal Scoping Report

Draft Green Belt Review Part 2b

Draft Statement of Community Involvement (SCI)

Some of the responses received during the consultation can be viewed below.

Further Options

Local Plan Part 2: Further Options

This additional stage of consultation was undertaken to supplement the Issues and Options stage. It considered further issues relation to housing development and identified a number of additional housing options at a wider range of towns and villages than was previously being considered. This included the villages of Cotgrave, Cropwell Bishop, East Bridgford, Gotham, Sutton Bonington and Tollerton.

This consultation ended on 31 March 2017. Alongside the Further Options, the following documents were also consulted on:

Green Belt Review Further Sites
