New car park ticket machines

The Council installed new ticket machines in all its West Bridgford car parks (Nursery car park, Bridgford Road car park and Gordon Road car park) in June 2011 as the old machines were becoming unreliable. The main benefit of the new machines is they allow users to pre-purchase a ticket during the day for use after 6pm, meaning people don’t need to return to their car later to buy another ticket if they are out and about in West Bridgford.

Please read the car park ticket machine instructions for details on how to operate the ticket machines.

Disabled parking

For disabled badge holders, there is free parking for up to 2 hours in the Gordon Road and the Nursery car parks, and up to 3 hours in the Bridgford Road car park on Bridgford Road. However, disabled drivers must display their badge and correctly set time clock - failure to do so will result in a Penalty Charge Notice being issued.

Blue parking badges allow cars carrying people who are registered blind, or people who have severe walking difficulties, to be parked near shops, stations and other facilities. Please see Nottinghamshire County Council'sBlue Badge scheme for more details, including information on how to apply. The County Council administer the scheme and deal with both new applications and renewals of existing badges.

Use of car parks

Use of the Borough's pay and display car parks are subject to the provision of the Rushcliffe Borough Council Civil Enforcement Off-Street Parking Places Order 2008. and also the Off-street Parking Order 2009 (Bingham, Keyworth and Radcliffe on Trent)

Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs) will be issued to vehicles that are considered to be in contravention of the parking regulations in place in these car parks. Each contravention has a specific code - see a List of the off street codes, together with the required observation time and level of the charge.

Once a PCN has been issued, it cannot be cancelled by the Civil Enforcement Officer.

Drivers who feel that a PCN has been issued wrongly have the right to make a formal representation to the Notts Parking Partnership and their contact details are printed on the reverse of the PCN.

PCN amounts

Parking contraventions are categorised as higher or lower dependent on the severity of the infringement. Less serious offences such as staying longer than the time on the ticket or parking outside the bay markings, the notice amount is £50 which is reduced to £25 if paid within 14 days. For more serious offences such as parking a vehicle that exceeds the maximum permitted weight or parking so as to cause an obstruction, the notice amount is £70 which is reduced to £35 if paid within 14 days.

Failure to pay within 28 days will result in Notts Parking Partnership using the details of the vehicle's registered owner to issue a Notice to Owner demanding full payment. Further delays will lead to increased costs, debt registration and ultimately to bailiff enforcement.

Method of payment

For details of how to pay and for contacting Notts Parking Partnership please see the reverse of the PCN.
