Bridgford park
Location: Central Avenue, West Bridgford, Nottingham NG2 6AT.
Bridgford Park is a beautiful Victorian park set within the leafy suburb of West Bridgford. Facilities at the park include a fitness trail, tennis courts, junior and teenage play areas, a catering outlet and modern toilets (£0.20p charge). The Croquet Lawn at the front of the park is available for hire. The park is home to Bridgford Hall which is the base for Rushcliffe Registry Office.

Bridgford Park play area
The junior play area at Bridgford Park, designed for children up to 11 years old, underwent a complete makeover in summer 2011 and is hugely popular. The sand factory, cradle swing and spectacular Amazon multi-play unit are real crowd pullers.
West Park
Location: Loughborough Road, West Bridgford, Nottingham NG2 7JE.
Contained within the open space that is West Park are five tennis courts (four mini tennis red and one full size court), two pavilions (the Sir Julien Cahn pavilion and a recently-constructed sports pavilion), and a grassed sports field which is used for cricket in the summer time and mini-football in the winter.
The tennis courts do not need to be pre-booked and payment should be made at the park rangers office within the park.
Alford Road sports pitch
Location: Alford Road, West Bridgford, Nottingham NG12 4AU.
Alford road is a large flat grassed area of parkland which is used as both a recreational open space and sports venue. There are 3 adult and 2 junior sized football pitches and 1 rugby pitch which are available for hire. The site also has a changing and toilet facility (but no showers).
There is a large children s play area which will be re-furbished in 2012 and a teen-shelter and basketball ball court.

Gresham Sports Park and Pavilion
Gresham Sports Park is situated off Wilford Lane, West Brdgford opposite the entrance to the new Emmanuel School. The facilities at Gresham Sports Park include a state of the art 3G floodlit football pitch and six full-sized and one mini grass football pitches. In addition to the high quality changing facilities and extensive car parking, the sports pavilion has a very attractive room for socialising that can be hired for anything from meetings, to training sessions to children's birthday parties. The room measures 15 x 10 metres and can accommodate 50 people.

Boundary Road play area
Location: Boundary Road, West Bridgford, NG2 7DB.
Boundary Road play area was refurbished in 2009 with equipment for children aged 0-12. The focal point of the site is a large mound with stepping stones, boulders and a climbing wall. There's also a Gyrospiral seesaw, Speed Gyro roundabout, springers, a cable way and pod swing.
Meadow Covert Nature Reserve
Meadow Covert is a 400 year old, woodland, which was formerly a pheasant keep for the Lord of the Manor. The West Bridgford Urban District Council bought the site in the late 1940s with the woodland in decline and in 1970 the Edwalton County Primary School obtained permission to clean up the Covert and use it for educational purposes, a use which continues to this day. A Management Committee was formed in 1972 and the site was declared a nature reserve. Visits to the covert can be arranged by contacting the Head Teacher at Edwalton Primary School, Wellin Lane, Edwalton, Nottingham on 0115 914 4221.

Meadow Park
Location: Gotham Road, East Leake.
An agricultural landscape of meadows, trees and hedgerows, with Kingston Brook running through the middle. This site is about 18 hectares (45 acres) in size and provides paths around the site and an informal ‘play’ area suitable for picnics and games. Rushcliffe Borough Council delegated management of Meadow Park to East Leake Parish Council in 2008, whilst retaining ownership.
