Why produce a Sustainable Community Strategy?
The Local Government Act 2000 requires all local authorities to produce a community strategy within the framework of this UK strategy and regional strategies. The aim of a community strategy is to enhance the quality of life for local communities through action to improve the area where we live or work.
Our vision
Our vision for the next twenty years is that Rushcliffe will be an excellent place to live, work and visit for everyone.
Our strategy and action plan draw together views of the community actively sought by the partnership through a programme of consultation events. There are six key themes:
- Protecting and improving our environment.
- Supporting the local economy.
- Building strong communities.
- Making communities safer.
- Supporting children and young people.
- Helping people to live healthy lives.
