Home Safety Advice

Where to go to find home safety advice.

The Environmental Health Service can provide general advice on safety in the home but the main role of the Service is the enforcement of health and safety at work. Comprehensive information and advice on home safety can be obtained by visiting the home safety section of the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) website and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Home Safety Network.

Other sources of home safety information are the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister (ODPM), which has overall responsibility for fire safety; The Department of Health, for accident prevention and medicine safety; and the NHS supported home healthcare guide, which provides first aid advice.
