What is a Local Strategic Partnership (LSP)?

An LSP is a group of organisations from public, private, community and voluntary sector in a local authority area. The key objective of the LSP is to improve the quality of life in that area, by encouraging organsiations to work together to achieve common goals.

Because an LSP is locally based, the community is well placed to influence its decision making. This provides the community with the opportunity to have its say on what services should be provided to meet their needs

Rushcliffe Community Partnership

The Rushcliffe Community Partnership is comprised of partner organisations from the public, private, voluntary and community sectors. Its key function is to develop and deliver a plan for the ongoing sustainable development of the area. Through this jointly developed Sustainable Community Strategy, partners work together for the benefit of all Rushcliffe residents and visitors, both now and in the future - Rushcliffe Community Partnership Organisation Chart.

The Rushcliffe Community Partnership comprises of a Strategic Board, Executive Group and six action partnerships; all these groups are comprised of wide-ranging networks whose aim is to achieve the objectives set out in the Sustainable Community Strategy.

The Nottinghamshire Local Area Agreement 2008 – 2011 drives the Sustainable Community Strategy.

Rushcliffe Community Partnership Awards 2009

Unsung heroes in Rushcliffe were recognised for their remarkable contribution at the Rushcliffe Community Partnership Awards last night (11 November).

These annual awards pay tribute to those people who make a real difference in Rushcliffe. Residents were asked to nominate their ‘heroes’ in seven categories, which included both individuals and groups, along with the Mayor’s special award.

The ceremony was hosted by Leader of the Council, Cllr Neil Clarke, the awards were presented by the Mayor of Rushcliffe, Cllr Peter McGowan, and the audience were entertained by the Normanton on Soar Choir.

Cllr Neil Clarke said: “We want to celebrate the achievements of the worthy winners and also the many other nominees night.”
