The Borough Council has produced a free map and guide to cycling in Rushcliffe. The guide outlines a dedicated network of cycle paths and recommended on-road routes in West Bridgford and the rest of Rushcliffe. The guide also provides other useful information such as tips for safer cycling and places of interest.
Nottinghamshire County Council's website contains information on local cycle routes, as well as advice on safer cycling.
Rushcliffe Borough Cycling Strategy
The Borough Council produces a strategy for cycling which is generally reviewed on an annual basis around March and April. The strategy provides an update on progress on the development of cycle routes and initiatives within the Borough. The strategy also outlines a list of future network development which the Borough Council supports. The Borough Council's role in developing the cycle network is generally one of lobbying other bodies such as the County Council and the Highways Agency to provide for improvements outlined in the Strategy. It has also in the past developed off-road routes on Council-owned land such as along the south side of the River Trent from Lady Bay Bridge towards the National Water Sports Centre.
The most recent review of the cycling strategy is available for download - see the link below.
