Information on sustainability issues in Rushcliffe, including conservation, nature, energy efficiency and environmental health issues such as air quality, food safety, fire safety, licensing and pest control.

Our sustainability issues pages will tell you more about what the council and community groups do to protect the borough, and what you can do to help us. Issues covered on these pages include advice on how to live green lives, including reducing waste and responsible shopping. The great outdoors section covers farming, gardening and nature conservation. You can also find out about sources of environmental grants. Rushcliffe has a diverse collection of wildlife, and many people in the area work hard to keep it a safe haven for the birds, animals, trees and plants that make their home here.

The environmental health section works to protect safety, health and welfare of people who work in, live in and visit Rushcliffe. They license premises serving food and drink, deal with stray dogs, rats, wasps and other pests, offer advice on saving energy and ensure private landlords maintain decent quality homes for rent. Environmental health ensure that food in the borough is safe to eat, that working conditions are sound, and that the air we breathe is clean.
