What is Lark in the Park?
Lark in the Park is Rushcliffe Borough Council's annual celebration to mark National Playday. It is a mammoth fun-filled day for families which features a whole host of child friendly attractions.
Best of all, most activities at Lark in the Park are FREE!
When does it take place?
In 2010 we will celebrate Lark in the Park on Wednesday 4 August, 10am till 4pm. What will I see?
In 2009 we promoted 'Staycationing' and made a splash with a special seaside theme - crowds joined us from all over Nottinghamshire for punch and judy, sideshows, beach games and sandcastle-making. As well as arts and craft activities there were sports sessions, fairground rides, a bouncy castle, inflatable slide and even a giant climbing wall.
The National Playday 2010 campaign theme will be 'Our place'. The 'Our place' campaign puts children at the heart of our communities, and asks everyone, young and old, to help create better places for all of us to live and play. We will be promoting 'Our place' with a day of activities to celebrate Nottinghamshire icon Robin Hood. Join us for pageantry, street theatre and craft activities all dedicated to the noble outlaw.
