The Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) not only sets out how the Council will consult with the community and stakeholders on local development documents, it also sets out how the Council will consult on all planning applications made to Rushcliffe Borough Council. The preparation of the SCI is required in accordance with the new Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act (2004) and the Town and Country Planning (Local Development) (England) Regulations 2004 which came into force in September 2004.
The Council received the report of the Inspector considering the soundness of Rushcliffe Borough Council Statement of Community Involvement. The Inspector found that, subject to the implementation of the recommendations set out in this Report, the Rushcliffe Borough Council SCI (November 2006) is sound.
The binding Inspector's Report was considered by Cabinet on 5 June 2007, and it was agreed that the Statement of Community Involvement, as amended by the Inspector's report, should be adopted.
