What do I need to provide?

Householder planning applications must be accompanied by:

  • 4 copies of a completed and signed application form
  • a scaled location plan clearly identifying your site (outlined in red)
  • a block plan (scale 1:500) showing any extensions including critical dimensions
  • any other relevant plans or drawings including critical dimensions 
  • design and access statement (if within a conservation area) - see Design and access statements guidance

Ordnance survey plans for this purpose are available from the Rushcliffe Community Contact Centre for a Ordnance Survey fees.

For other types of applications, the items above are required, with some exceptions:

  • Advertisement consent: does not require a design and access statement
  • Change of use application: does not require a design and access statement
  • Extensions to business premises: a design and access statement is requires for all applications
  • Listed building consent applications: a design and access statement is required for all applications.
  • Non-Material Amendment applications: generally only one copy of the form and amended plan is required, with the proposed amendment clearly highlighted or otherwise marked on the plan
  • Discharge of Conditions: for householder applications only one copy of the form and any associated documents is required

The Government has announced an increase in the fees for planning applications which came into effect on Thursday 22 November 2012. See the revised scale of fees – planning applications for the new fees.
