Armed Forces Day Proms in the Park

Rushcliffe Borough Council marks Armed Forces Day, a nationwide celebration to honour the work of the UK Armed Forces, past and present with a free open-air musical event

In 2018 our Armed Forces Day celebration will take place on Saturday 30 June 12pm-9pm in Bridgford Park, West Bridgford. There'll be performances throughout the day from local choirs, singers and bands leading up to our rousingly patriotic 'last night of the proms' concert at 7pm with Nottingham Concert Band and guest mc Colin Slater. This year's musical programme will feature works to commorate the WW1 Centenary and 100 years since the formation of the Royal Air Force.

Proms is not just about the music though as we’ll also have lots of great displays from local community groups, including from this year's official charity the Royal British Legion poppy Apeal. Our event sponsors are Grosvenor House Day Nursery West Bridgford

Admission to Proms in the Park is free and no tickets are required.

Our stage programme will be as follows -

12pm - 1.30pm   Nottinghamshire Police Band

1.30pm - 2pm     The Liberty Singers

2pm - 3pm          Ultra Lounge

4pm - 5pm          Jack Willis (classical tenor)
